Beauty of Biodiversity: Birds, Bees and Butterflies

Jan 10, 2011

D&R Greenway Land Trust’s new multi-multi-media art exhibition, “Birds, Bees & Butterflies: The Beauty of Biodiversity”, is available from January 10 through March 25, 2011, on business hours of business days. These creatures are increasingly endangered by habitat loss. D&R Greenway has worked since 1989 to preserve land in New Jersey.

Its Artists’ Reception is January 14, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. The Art Exhibition may be seen on business hours of business days. All events free, but call 609-924-4646 to register for Artists’ Reception, and to be sure Marie L. Matthews Galleries are not rented on the day of one’s prospective visit.

The art ranges from paintings, drawings, photograps and sculpture through video art, digital art and a dance piece. D&R Greenway’s new Curator, Diana Moore, has chosen this theme because “these winged creatures are ecological indicators of the lands they inhabit.”

Artists include Beatrice Bork, Steven Ferrari, James Fiorentino, Kristin Haraldsdottir, Brenda Jones, Keith Miller, Jo-Ann Osnoe, Jessi Reel, Michael Schweigart, Madelaine Shellaby, Laurinda Stockwell, Adam Uhl, Annelies van Domelen and William Vandever.

All art is for sale. A portion of the procees supports D&R Greenway’s Preservation & Stewardship Mission.
